Twisted Wheel rock the boat in Bristol 31/05/09 (By Jane)

A beautiful day (again) to be beside the river for the rescheduled gig in Bristol aboard Thekla. It also meant it was sadly the last gig of the tour, so we had tears in our eyes most of the night...

ok, I must apoligise for anyone sunbathing whilst I took pictures of the boat - I didnt mean to startle you!!!

Down in the depths of Thekla, we were pleased that the air conditioning was working, as the venue started to fill up and with memories of the York Fibbers gig still freshly etched on our minds, to say we were releived was an understatement. It was also excellent to see a few familiar faces who had been to other Twisted Wheel gigs on this tour, and fair play to them for venturing down South for this last gig.

Photobucket With the look of determination on their faces, Twisted Wheel were not gonna send anyone home disappointed tonight. Yes it was the last gig of the tour, but, boy, did they play with the freshness they had at their first, in Sheffield, way back on 13th May. This was a fantastic last set by the lads, bringing back in 'Honey Girl' that we had sorely missed at the last handful of gigs, still playing 'Whats Your Name' and 'Bouncing Bomb' too for good measure. Photobucket Twisted Wheel have made their first headline tour one to remember for sure. Each and every gig they have played to their full ability, any (backstage sound) problems being put behind them valiantly, with the audience never being aware at all. Their flare for spontaneity standing them in good stead for the future, they gel together extremely well, keeping the audience's full attention at all times, no one ever missing a beat. Ive totally loved every minute of the tour, and with a tear in my eye I said goodbye. Good luck lads xx (and thank you so much after the gig, that was really special, you lot mean the world to me. thanx)
