Its that time of year again, when we all sit back and reminisce, so here's my look back at the year of non stop touring and mayhem with the hardest working band - Twisted Wheel..... January and February 2009 find the lads touring in Europe (including support slots with Oasis) winning fans over with their full blown energetic sets. Stopping off at the Barfly in Camden for XFMs all dayer on 24th January and a mind blowing set at Koko on the 10th February.

The pace hots up in March and April with the tour supporting The Enemy (along with Kid British) which kicked off in Inverness (and the fire alarm being set off!!) then on to Dunfirmline, Glasgow, Oban, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Leeds, Nottingham, Lincoln, Birmingham, Exeter, Swindon, Bristol, Margate, Norwich, Brighton, Southampton and Brixton Academy x2, Cardiff and their first time over in Ireland (notably Dublin - amazing night had by all...)....
March also sees Twisted Wheel take part in HMVs My Inspiration campaign, with a free download cover version of The Zombies track 'She's Not There
Their third single (as 'You Stole The Sun' is an EP), 'We Are Us' is released to rave reviews with many reviewers making it their single of the week - including News Of The World
TWISTED WHEEL 'We Are Us' ****
Single of the week- News Of the World 29/3/09
THE Manchester trio picked up a load of fans supporting Oasis last year and now they deserve to cash in with this rabble - rouser - the best us - against - the world chant since The Enemy's Away From Here. Singer Jonny Brown spits out lyrics almost like a rapper while his bandmates easily keep up making for exhilirating rock n roll.
13th of April (and still on tour with The Enemy) sees the release of their debut self titled album, again to rave reviews.
15th April - the lads play at Oldham and Manchester's HMV stores to 100s of eager fans, followed by signing sessions.
16th April, before the Cardiff Uni gig, Jonny plays an acoustic set at the tiny Spillers Record store

On to May, and its back on the road again, this time with their own headline tour, with support from the fabulous Detroit Social Club. The tour kicks off in Sheffield, then onto Leeds for the most crazy night of the tour (where two of us in the crowd had to be bouncers - it was THAT hectic).........then on to Birmingham at the Rainbow Rooms (under the arches........ on a very wet night)........
Twisted WheelMySpace Music Videos ..then on to Nottingham and later that week down to London's Kings College, Portsmouth (complete with stage invasion), a festival in Newcastle, up to Glasgow. then Carlisle, hot and sweaty York and finnishing down in Bristol.... Midway through their headline tour, the lads stop off at Silverstone to support Paul Weller at the Mini United event, and ... it was one night to remember...........
.as during Paul Weller's set, Jonny was invited onstage to duet with him, singing 'Thats Entertainment' - one of the highlights of 2009 without doubt....
also, in conjunction with Mini United, Twisted Wheel release their cover version of 'Thats Entertainment which was available as a free download

Twisted Wheel are :
Jonny Brown - Vocals & guitar
Stephen Evans - Bass guitar
Eoghan Clifford - Drums
Twisted Wheel evolved from The Children (Jonny, Rick, Ben & Chris Carcamo & Ronnie )Jonny and Rick knew drummer Adam Clarke from school, but it wasn’t until a meeting at Leeds Festival one year that the three became close friends.
Fast forward to Christmas time 2006 and the lads were putting the wheels in motion to do something serious. Come Jannuary and the band started jamming together, before playing their debut gig after just four rehearsals. Half a year later there was much label interest and a loads of bands wanting them as a support act.
In 2007 Twisted Wheel won ' Xfm's Uploaded Award' from Clint Boon on his music response show - a week earlier they'd signed their record deal with Columbia.
May 2010 - Adam leaves Twisted Wheel and is replacedby Eoghan Clifford of Mossley band The Fayre. August 2010 Rick left the band & replaced by Stephen Evans
